This year has been lucky for John Abraham as his home production PARMANU and Milap Milan Zaveri's SATYAMEVA JAYATE received a good response and few months back John announced about his collaboration with Nikkhil Advani in tentatively titled film BATLA HOUSE. Nikkhil had last directed him in SALAAM-E-ISHQ, which also starred Vidya Balan, Anil Kapoor, Juhi Chawla, Priyanka Chopra and Salman Khan.
John will be seen playing the character of DCP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav who leads the infamous Batla House Encounter case in New Delhi which took place on September 19, 2008. The film is shot in real locations, which includes Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur and Nepal.
John teased us with the first look and the release date on his social media profile, he captioned, “Every story has two points of view. One WRONG. The other RIGHT. But what if the lines are blurred? We are in a treat as next year on Independence Day we'll see the clash of 3 biggies, that is Ayan Mukherji's BRAHMASTRA, MADE IN CHINA and BATLA HOUSE.The film will be directed by Nikkhil Advani who previously directed Airlift. BATLA HOUSE is scheduled to release on 15th August 2019.
