JOHNNY ENGLISH, a 2003 British spy comedy film parodying the James Bond secret agent genre, infused with comedy similar to Rowan Atkinson's Mr. Bean character, is back to carry out the majesty’s work and back in style. After being away since 2011, the world’s greatest spy is back to save the world.
Rowan Atkinson is back and the trailer looks absolutely hilarious, it has great visual comedy cues and funny dialogues give the British comedian the sort of stage where he excels.
After capturing the world’s attention with his character of Mr. Bean in 1990, Rowan introduced us to the character of Johnny English, a British spy who though well intentioned does not follow the spy code and does things his way.
The trailer shows English receiving a letter by M17 after a sabbatical, this time around after a cyber-attack the identities of every secret agent and it is Johnny’s task to stop this while being incredibly uncoordinated and uncertain about almost everything, though the way he says it seems otherwise.
The trailer also shows his unconventional ways of getting things done which has been a staple of the series and maybe his greatest asset.
JOHNNY ENGLISH must overcome the challenges of modern technology to make this mission a success.
Directed by David Kerr and produced by Studio Canal, Universal Pictures and Working Title Films, the film is scheduled to release in late 2018.
