Director Jon Favreau shared a behind the scenes photo from Disney's upcoming live-action film THE LION KING. It is just one of the several animated classics that is being remade in live action. Previously Jon Favreau directed THE JUNGLE BOOK, which went on to become the most successful Disney live-action film.
Directed by Jon Favreau, the also featured Beyoncé Knowles-Carter as Nala, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, Alfre Woodard as Sarabi, JD McCrary as Young Simba, Shahadi Wright Joseph as Young Nala, John Kani as Rafiki, John Oliver as Zazu, Florence Kasumba as Shenzi, Eric André as Azizi and Keegan-Michael Key as Kamari. THE LION KONG slated to release on July 19, 2019.
The film was officially announced in 2016 and in December 2017, Jon himself revealed the entire star-studded cast of the film. Yesterday, the director shared an image of voice recording studio featuring some of the main leads of the film. Donald Glover, who voices Simba, along with Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen, who\'ll voice the characters of Timon and Pumbaa. Donald Glover is seen wearing a Donald Duck sweater as he shares his first name with the character.
