If there is one Bollywood filmmaker and producer, who is always on toes churning out films after films then it has to be Karan Johar. Every other day we come across a new announcement from the filmmaker. He is perhaps the only filmmaker who is either giving launch pads to newbies or producing multi-starrers or big budgeted films. He is part of multiple projects and perhaps working with all the biggies at the same time. On the other hand Karan, who has shaped many careers, is also supporting three newbies Janhvi Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan and Ananya Pandey make a huge splash in Bollywood.
Going by the record, Karan is already working on STUDENT OF THE YEAR 2, sequel to SOTY, which is in post-production and stars Tiger Shroff, Ananya Pandey, Tara Sutaria. On the other hand KJO’s multi-starrer KALANK that brings together Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha is underway. KJO’s yet another project Ayan Mukerji’s BRAHMASTRA starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, shoot is going in full swing. Karan also joined hands with Salman Khan to produce KESARI starring Akshay Kumar. Besides, he has collaborated with Rohit Shetty for Ranveer Singh-Sara Ali Khan starrer SIMMBA. Further he is backing director Tarun Mansukhani’s Sushant Singh Rajput-Jacqueline Fernandez starrer DRIVE and animation film KOOCHIE KOOCHIE HOTA HAI, which is also written by him.
Moreover he has also come on board for projects like AASHIQUI 3, SHHUDDHI, Mohit Suri’s next. Lately he announced two starry projects GOOD NEWS that stars Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh, Kiara Advani and TAKHT that will bring stars like Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor, Anil Kapoor.
And now here comes another big announcement. Well, Karan Johar's Dharma Production will be producing the upcoming biopic on Captain Vikram Batra, who was martyred during the Kargil War and posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra.
