Manoj Bajpayee has been one of the most unconventional actors. He has not done those typical masala movies but has swayed us with his power packed performances in SATYA, SHOOL, ZUBEIDAA, GANGS OF WASSEYPUR – PART 1, ALIGARH, BUDHIA SINGH – BORN TO RUN and many more.
With MISSING Manoj has turned producer, he will be seen with Tabu as they will be collaborating together after 14 years. Tabu and Manoj has been good friends, since then.
Manoj always chooses roles which were different and he broke the stereotype way back in 90’s. He was last seen in a pivotal role in BAAGHI 2 along with Tiger Shroff. The movie is doing well and garnering good response.
Manoj played an important role in BAAGHI 2, however his role was short and ended soon.
When asked Manoj what made him say yes to a miniscule role in BAAGHI 2, which ended soon to which Manoj gave a kickass reply, he said, “In BAAGHI 2 either Tiger can be used or Manoj, bit in a film like BAAGHI 2, Tiger was powerful and immense. He is such a hard working person, even during the breaks he would rehearse with his stunt man. Not every time you do a film for money, sometimes you do it for your friends and as a good will.”
He further added, “I would be the last person to get cynical about something as successful as BAAGHI. You have to understand that a success as big as this opens windows in my career constantly to do the cinema I believe in, “Who am I to judge the logistics of commercial cinema? I am just happy to be part of something as successful as BAAGHI 2, more so since I was treated with utmost respect by the entire unit. This was my first with film producer Sajid Nadiadwala, and not for a minute did he let me feel like an outsider. The director Ahmed Khan is so focused on his work, so eager to learn all the time. That hunger to better oneself is something I completely identify with.”
On being asked about box office numbers, Manoj said, “I have made a career out of flop film.”
