‘DIL PE MATH LE YAAR’, Mar Jayega.. ‘GHAAT’ KHA JAYEGA.. This MISSING is killing but what can you do.. movies don’t come with warning signals which you see in cigarettes, alcohol and of course Rahul Dravid warns us to stay away from tobacco every time coming right before the start of our film. What about statutory warning /reminder that this movie can be injurious. Just a thought, I have the right to say my ‘maan ki baat’..
Khair (anyways) coming back to the point, MISSING starring terrific talents like Tabu and Manoj Bajpayee is a murder of a mystery by Mukul Abhyankarji. Ironically, MISSING completes the hat trick of disappointment from the jodi of Tabu and Manoj Bajpayee - DIL PE MATH LE YAAR, GHAAT followed by this aghaath (attack) on the genre, talents and your senses at one go.. oh no..
Sushant Dubey and Aparna Dubey check into a swanky Mauritian resort late night with their very unwell daughter Titli. By the morning, the child goes missing from their suite and enters Mauritius police officer Buddhu (Annu Kapoor) who speaks Hindi in Bihari accent cause a sizable population of Mauritius has people from Bihar. Reality bites literally.
So the raveling happens in a picturesque location of Mauritius where things go missing without leaving a trace. No thrill, no excitement it’s such a pain to see such amazing talents like Tabu, Annu and Manoj hamming, overacting or looking out of place, searching for interest which is ‘missing’.
Things are shown to create an aura of suspicion but it doesn,t go beyond introduction. A bag containing diapers, sundry dolls, Tabu’s intense look and Manoj’s tendency to flirt with females doesn,t go beyond and after some time you just don,t bother. The execution is shoddy, the writing is lack luster.
It’s a mystery how Mukul Abhyankar managed to convince Tabu, Manoj and Annu for this and the bigger mystery is how the movie got sold. Anyways all of these are now part of history.
