Amavas movie review: Yippee go trippy yeah!!

AMAVAS movie review is here. Starring Sachiin Joshi and the gorgeous Nargis Fakhri, this horror by Bhushan Patel has released today. Does it deliver on the promised eerie, scary thrill quotient?. Find out in AMAVAS movie review.

The immediate reaction when AMAVAS the movie ends

Hey dude, where’s my drink?. I don,t care whether ghost exist or not but I want to survive, remember those good old college times when we watched such crap at night with our poison and had a gala time. What an irony, ghost may or may not exist but such bamboozled attempts in the name of horror/mystery keeps on coming and that’s more frightening.

The plot/story of AMAVAS

Karan (Sachiin Joshi) and Ahaana ( Nargis Fakhri) are couples in love. They go for a romantic weekend at Karan’s summer home – an abandoned castle. Ahaana is the gorgeous pretty thing who has fallen for this freak who goes crazy on hearing the sound of bells and believes that someone is watching him. Dr. Shivani (Mona Singh) is the psychiatrist looking after the curious case of Karan. And there is a character called Maya (Navneet Kaur Dhillon) who spills some beans on how to avoid ghost at nights.

All the usual factory essentials for a horror are used in this Bhushan Patel picture and still it’s a classic case of empty scares. Creaking doors, ghosts watching you as you sleep, chairs rolling down all are there but does it scare?. The answer is NO.

What is good in AMAVAS?

Mona Singh breathes some life into this dead horror and Ali Asgar brings some smiles.

How are Sachiin Joshi and Nargis Fakhri in AMAVAS?

The lack of chemistry between Sachiin Joshi and Nargis Fakhri is frightening for sure if not the film.

Final verdict

AMAVAS is that unexpected throwback experience. It took me to my college days when we targeted a movie for our night long party sessions and came out with funny versions after every round of our drinks. AMAVAS is perfectly suited for such games. It’s awfully bad in its genre but unintentionally, it may remind someone like me about his college days, those times when went trippy yeah and played such games yippee!!.
