The only true blue audio giants, T-Series, have always been associated with excellent quality and memorable audio, and the films they produce too has music which has always been hugely popular. It was due to their efforts that directors Vinay Sapru and Radhika Rao were instrumental in providing some absolutely class compositions via composer Adnan Sami in their debut film, LUCKY NO TIME FOR LOVE, starring Salman Khan and Sneha Ullal.

This time a host of composers have been chosen with Pritam leading the pack, followed by a song each from budding talents like Falak Shabir and Anupam Amod and includes a gem by RD Burman. So let's check out whether these bunch of extremely talented composers succeed in carrying out the needful and providing a new comic, romantic image for macho man Sunny Deol and the (new) tragedy queen, Kangana.

The album gets a rollicking start with ''Gud Naal Ishq Mitha'' (hook line traditional), an eternally and extremely popular Punjabi folk based 'Bhangra' dance track given a zany hip hop touch by Anupam Amod and sung even better by Tochi Raina. Lyrics by Mayur Puri incorporate the theme of the movie and provides the perfect intro of the lead protagonist.

CHECK OUT: No romance for Sunny Deol!

The second version by Sukhwinder Singh is as good as the first and makes for pleasant repeat.

There is also a remix of Sukhi's version by Dj A-Myth which is well crafted.
It's Pritam and Sayeed Quadri at their eclectic best with absolutely the best romantic song of the year so far with, ''Aao Na'', sung by none other than the original king of love ditties, Sonu Nigam, and complemented perfectly by Tulsi Kumar.

The second version is the ''Aao Na'' remix by Dj Chetas and MYK which makes it more club and disco friendly.

It's Falak Shabir's all-round excellent performance as singer, lyricist and composer that impresses as always with yet another typical (Falak Shabir) separation composition aptly titled, ''Judaai.'' A sad and somewhat somber but still highly addictive number that will surely make a mark at the charts, courtesy Falak's escalating popularity.

The ''Judaai'' remix by Dj A-Myth dilutes the addictive appeal of the original.
The unplugged version of ''Judaai' relying entirely on Falak's canorous vocals and minimal music arrangements is excellent.

Soft, frothy and light hearted romantic propositioning track, ''Halki Halki'', by Pritam, with apt Hinglish lyrics by Mayur Puri, sets up a good number. Sung by Shaan in his ever youthful vocals and accompanied by Tulsi's sugary sweet voice, it has youth appealing abilities with nice rap and soft musical arrangements.
Kiran Kamath does a good job in the remixed version of ''Halki Halki''.
The album comes to a close with RD Burman's classic love composition, a gem of a number indeed, ''Aaja Meri Jaan'' (by SP Balasubramaniam), that featured in quite a few films and also the theme track of SAGAR. In this album it has been remixed by DJ Phukan and sung by Mauli in her modulating inebriated vocals. The song suits the mood of the film, although it's not a patch on the original number sung brilliantly by the master SP himself.

CHECK OUT: I LOVE NEW YEAR - Sunny Deol shoots scene in boxer shorts

The remix version of ''Aaja Meri Jaan'' by Dj Shiva with broken vocals and added pace and rhythm makes for a good dance track.

The audio album of I LOVE NY does carry the hallmark of excellence associated with a T-Series film, by way of some lovely music that is as varied and universally appealing as it should be. Our picks are all time favourite, ''Gud Naal Ishq Mitha'', ''Aao Na'' and ''Judaai''. The good music should help the cause of this all out romantic film which opens world-wide on 26th April.

I LOVE NY is a pleasant surprise. Too much has happened since the film got ready for release and ran into rough weather. In between Kangana Ranaut swept us with her act in QUEEN and recently with TANU WEDS MANU RETURNS. And if Kangana was upset with the film, as was reported in the media, there should be something about it.

So it is with pre-conceived notions that you enter the theatre. It doesn't take long for you to realise that I LOVE NY is quite an honest interpretation of incidental love. Both the lead actors, Sunny Deol and Kangana, put up a fabulous performance to engage the viewer till the end. Also, Kangana's unnecessary fears have been put to rest. This might just be a sleeper hit!

The movie begins in a long drawn fashion early on as directors Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru try to introduce Randhir Singh (Sunny), a banker who is afraid to get hitched. This New Year's Eve, however, he is ready to get engaged to his sweetheart Riya (Tannishta Chatterjee) and they plan a 'party for two' at his home in Chicago.

But being the workaholic that he is, he goes to work at his bank and spends some time with his buddies at the gym. After they learn that he is to be engaged, they hit the bottle and Randhir, lands up on a flight to New York. Since all four buddies were drunk, they end up putting the wrong friend on board the aircraft!

A sozzled Randhir somehow mumbles to the cabbie to take him to 309, West View 7A (his address in Chicago). He manages to reach 'his door', squeeze the key in and plonk into the bed. On the way to his 'home' he has lost his wallet and phone.

A few minutes later, in walks Tiku (Kangana) whose home this actually is. She is shocked to find a man sleeping in her bed. The shrieking begins, and later, the romance.

Sunny takes time to warm up on screen, but when he does, he embraces his character to a nicety to play the 'goofed up man in love not wanting to commit, but now madly in love'.

Kangana is solid. She looks good too. And both Sunny and Kangana hit it off to pull off a believable, lovable romance.

Of course there are moments which you find drag the film down. Like for instance, the actor who plays Ishaan (Kangana's boyfriend). Ishaan's character sketch is in a mess. Somehow the director duo of Rao and Sapru manage to pull off his insipid scenes through.

The songs Aao Na and Halki Halki are beautifully sung and picturized. Watch out especially for Halki Halki, there is immense energy in the picturization. Sunny is at his best. This song may soon be the anthem in pre-wedding celebrations.

I loved I LOVE NY. You may too. Give it a try. This is Sunny Paaji at his vintage best. Kangana, ofcourse is now in a league of her own.

Pre-conceived notions can sometimes be damaging!
