Lekar Hum Deewana Dil Movie Review
I am looking at this movie purely from the perspective of college-going kids. Most will connect with the story of falling in love, trying to convince their parents and then eloping.

But the real thrill in this story comes when loves goes out of the window and reality hits hard: is love really that simple like it seems to be when in college? Debutants Armaan Jain and Deeksha Seth who play Dinesh and Karishma soon find out the hard way.
In college they are the best of buddies, but they do not know whether they love each other. Their friends on the other hand know that they are made for each other and that their feelings run deeper, beyond the surface. The problem arises when Karishma's family fixes a match for her, as is their practice in their family. Suddenly, Dinesh realizes the intensity of his love.

After trying to convince his dad, who laughs at him, he elopes with Karishma. Soon the heat is on the couple who are being chased by their respective families. Things reach boiling point when they take shelter with some outlaws in the jungles of Raipur. When Karishma gets a lota and an umbrella in hand to do a 'big job' out in the open is when she realizes what a mess she has gotten into. There is friction in the relationship. They get at each other and are soon caught and sent to their respective families.
Since they were married in court, their families are now figuring out a way to annul the same. With so much hate brewing between them, will it be love-all yet again?
Director Arif Ali has a cute subject on hand but the treatment needed to be more mature it its approach. Moreover, during huge stretches in the film, it looks like a documentary on what happens when you elope, and how to save a marriage.
Nonetheless, it has a definite youth appeal, and I would recommend it to all youngsters, only on the basis on how it shows the reality to young lovers who think everything is going to be just the way it is.
Newcomers Armaan and Deeksha, after the initial hiccups, get into the groove and grow on you as characters. The actor who plays Deeksha's father and his employee deserve special mention.

Just wondering why the makers did not borrow the track Lekar Hum Deewana Dil from YADOON KI BARAAT. It would surely have given a fillip to its below average music.
