Expectations are quite high from young, talented and very league se hatke director duo, Raj & DK's upcoming comic action thriller, A GENTLEMAN- SUNDAR SUSHEEL RISKY, which is said to be a sequel to Hrithik Roshan's BANG BANG. Music is helmed by their favourite, Sachin-Jigar and why not! Together they have delivered memorable music like SHOR IN THE CITY, GO GOA GONE etc. Even their last debacle HAPPY ENDING had some chartbusting music. So let's plug on and get going.

Club dance number, 'Disco Disco' starts with a lively tune that hooks but the 'mukhda' 'dil disco disco bole saari raat sajna' carries a heard before feel as the tune has a striking resemblance to 'Dil Dhak Dhak Dhadke' (DAAG-THE FIRE), which itself was a Rajasthani folk inspired song. Benny Dayal renders the number along with Shirley Setia and Vayu pens some routine filmy lyrics.

'Baat Ban Jaaye' once again promised much with a lovely mesmerising soft soothing start but once again a very pedestrian tune (in the 'mukhda') coupled with routine lyrics make it an average fare. Siddharth Basrur and Priya Sariaya lend their voices to the beach party number.

The first song that catches attention is 'Chandralekha', an office party Karaoke track, and is a peppy, groovy soft rock n roll (saxophone makes it party friendly) is based number with some nice Arabic background music. Lyrics by Vayu are funny and situational. Vishal Dadlani puts in a lot of zest in the rockish rendition with good support from Jonita Gandhi. It has been choreographed very well with some realistic dance moves and Jacqueline's hot pole dance.

The romantic duet that one has been missing comes in the form of 'Laagi Na Choote' which has been rendered well by Arijit and Shreya. The song does leave an impression but still that dew fresh tune that one expects from Sach-Jigs is missing. Background musical arrangements are nice with piano and guitars.

The highlight song of the album, 'Bandook Meri Laila' is actually a situational/ introductory song that throws light on the gun totting, dare devil gun totting character of the leads. The hip hop dance number has a nice groovy rhythm, good and apt rap by Raftaar, unique lyrics by Vayu and a nice rendition by Ash King and Jigar Saraiya.

The audio of A GENTLEMAN could have been classified as very good had it been from some other team. But when its Raj & DK with Sachin-Jigar (known for their fresh melodies) one expects some quality chartbusting stuff that is memorable like their previous albums. Our picks are 'Chandralekha' and 'Bandook Meri Laila' , though 'Disco Disco' does have that chartbusting potential. The action packed thriller releases this Friday and one hopes that the songs should gain more popularity after the release.
