Hamari Adhuri Kahani Music Review
Vishesh Films, Fox Star Studios and Emraan Hashmi's last outing, MR. X was not only a box-office debacle but even its music failed to enthuse or engage the audience. However things should be different this time around considering its golden boy, Mohit Suri wielding the baton, and going by his amazing track record (especially after ASHIQUI 2 and EK VILLAIN), one expects chartbusting music from the ever dependable Jeet and Mithoon.
|HAMARI ADHURI KAHANI WALLPAPERS|
The title track, 'Hamari Adhuri Kahani' (by Jeet) kick-starts proceedings well and it's a sad, sombre, slow and thoughtful narrative style situational composition with lovely rendition by Arijit Singh. The usp of the track is the crescendo that takes the song to a new high.
The composer (Jeet) is an adept singer and he proves it yet again with an emotive rendition in the second version of the title track.
Hearing Papon is always a delight, and he doesn't let us down with his flawless mesmerising rendition in the Mithoon composed love ballad, 'Hum Nava', although the tune leaves much to be desired. Mithoon tries hard to recreate the 'Banjaara' (EK VILLAIN) magic as the situation is almost similar, but 'Hum Nava' is nowhere closer to the now iconic number.
Ami Mishra chips in with 'Hansi' in two versions (male and female), rendered by Ami himself and Shreya Ghoshal . And one must commend Ami for choosing a lovely fresh tune and lively arrangements, which coupled with spirited singing (by both Ami and Shreya in their respective versions) throws up a surprisingly good composition.
Deepali Sathe's 'Yeh Kaisi Jagah' is a situational love song where the protagonist expresses her joy in being introduced to a totally new world. The male background semi-classical chorals are the highlight and so are the all Hindustani arrangements.
The audio of HAMARI ADHURI KAHANI disappoints, considering that it is from the golden boy, Mohit Suri (not to forget Emraan Hashmi and Vishesh Films) whose track record is simply invincible and enviable. Just two songs, the title track and to an extent 'Hansi' manage to hold attention. However one expects Mohit to come up with a powerful script that will go well with the songs and the album may (hopefully) gain popularity after the release of the film on 12th June.
