Happy Bhag Jayegi Music Review
HAPPY BHAG JAAYEGI marks EROS International's third venture with maverick producer-director Anand L. Rai after the super success of RAANJHANAA and TANU WEDS MANU RETURNS. Therefore its but natural that expectations are sky high from the music of their latest venture.
|HAPPY BHAG JAYEGI WALLPAPERS|
'Happy Oye' can be classified as a typical and highly popular Punjabi folk based 'jugni' number which branches out superbly as it introduces the free spirited, strong minded female lead/protagonist in a very interesting as well as entertaining manner. The song embodies the spirit of Anand L Rai movies. Harshdeep Kaur is just the right choice for the song and Shahid Mallya gives her gracious company.
Another song that starts of as a typical rustic Punjabi folk wedding number but later changes into a very cute, propositioning number is 'Gabru Ready To Mingle'. Mika Singh excels in the number; in fact he totally owns it, although Tarannum Malik, Neeti Mohun and Danish Sabri provide the perfect light banters. Englsih rap by Dee Mc is situational and fun. Lyrics will surely appeal to the youth.
'Aashiq Tera' is the first average song with a very heard before (reminds one of many Rahat Fateh Ali Khan's numbers for Salman Khan) a mix of sufi romantic, yet the song on the whole is pleasing to the ears. Altamash Faridi renders the number well.
A soft romantic ballad 'Zara Si Dosti Kar Le' is reminiscent of Emraan-Pritam numbers; in fact it's in the same corridor as 'Zara Si Dil Mein De Jagah Tu'. Arijit Singh's rendition is easily the highlight of the song (his yodelling is class) along with soft rock interlude towards the fag end but once again the song suffers from that heard before feel.
Javed Ali's sweet, soul pleasing vocals are the saving grace of the soft, all 'sufi' based 'Yaaram' which sounds good to the ears but does not really linger on in memory.
The song encompasses the spirit of the pure love of the protagonist.
Summing up, the audio of HAPPY BHAG JAAYEGI is a mix bag with two numbers that hold attention 'Happy Oye' and 'Gabru Ready To Mingle '. In fact except for these two numbers the rest of the songs do even contain the spirit of Anand's film tracks. And keeping in mind the superb chartbusting as well as situational and melody based tracks from the previous ventures RAANJHANAA and TANU WEDS MANU RETURNS, and not to forget Anand L Rai's TANU WEDS MANU (for Viacom 18), the album does fade in comparison. However one is sure from the trailers that the makers will keep their success record intact and come up with a hat trick when the film releases all over.
