Hindi Medium Music Review
One does expect a quality score from T-Series' upcoming venture, HINDI MEDIUM, and there are two main reasons. First as is obvious, it comes from the house of T-Series and secondly talented composers Sachin-Jigar are known for their fresh melodious numbers.
HINDI MEDIUM STILLS
Although the song that has caught the fancy of music buffs is 'Suit Suit', dedicated to all the Honeys, it is actually a chartbusting refurbished variant of the highly popular 'Tenu Suit Suit Karda' by Intense comprising Guru Randhawa and Arjun. The reworked (by Guru Randhawa and Rajat Nagpal) number is rendered by the same set of singers Guru and Arjun and is a true blue Punjabi pop-cum-rap dance number and is surely and steadily gaining popularity.
Said to be Atif Aslam's best romantic song ever, 'Hoor', does hook due to its lovely fresh melody, superb lyrics (by Priya Saraiya), lovely soft arrangements (harmonium sounds) charm and last but not the least, Atif Aslam , whose vocals spell a cast on the listeners. The music video that traces back the love story of the leads, Irfaan and Saba, right to their teens is interesting. But best ever? Not really!
Another chartbusting Punjabi pop that gets a makeover is Sukhbir's 'Ishq Tera Tadpave' and one does question the choice as the original itself is very fresh in the minds. Ikka Singh puts in his Honey Singh stylized rap.
The motivational inspirational number, 'Ek Jindari', is surely a unique number, which although situational, makes for an interesting hear. Taniskaa Sanghvi and the children chorus do wonderful job and as do Sach-Jig! Their choice of tune arrangements is commendable and so are Kumaar's inspirational lyrics, that put forward the dreams of children in a cute and heart touching manner.
Summing up, the short and terse album appears to be more 'Kaam Chalau' and Sach-Jigar do put their best foot forward as always with 'Hoor' and 'Ek Jindari' which along with 'Suit Suit' happens to be our pick as well. Content more than music and Irfaan Khan's presence will be instrumental in the film being received well (specially in multiplexes) when it releases this Friday. We deduct half star from Sachin-Jigar's report card due to lack of original compositions!
