John Abraham Entertainment and Azure Entertainment's ROCKY HANDSOME is a thriller, and one expects music that stays true to the story and act as a tension reliever during tense situations without acting as a speed breaker.

Bombay Rockers, the popular Indian-Danish rock band's chartbusting single, 'Rock Tha Party' finds place in the album and is rearranged and refurbished to suit the situation. Makes for a good nostalgic repeat hear.

Sunny and Inder Bawra come up with an oft heard tune in the romantic ballad 'Rehnuma' which is good in parts. The nightingale, Shreya Ghoshal, holds forth with a petal soft rendition and is supported well by the composer Inder Bawra. Manoj Mauntashir's lyrics impress.

Ankit Tiwari's outing, 'Alfazon Ki Tarah' fails to ignite interest as he is getting too repetitive and this song is a hark back to 'Tu Hai'(ROY). Even the trademark Ankit crescendo does not exactly excite.

Sunny and Inder Bawra show their class with an absolute scorcher, 'Aye Khuda'. The situational song which is a cry to the almighty conveying the anguish and grief of the lead. The master himself, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan casts a spell with a heart rending rendition. The amazing crescendo which follows a petal soft 'mukhda' is the highlight.
The song also features as a duet with Shreya Ghoshal joining Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and the result is as magical as the solo.

The rock and roll era of yore is brought to fore with the tension releaser 'Titliyan' and none better than the original item number queen Sunidhi Chauhan to render it. Sunny and Inder impress with top class arrangements but the song reminds one of the iconic number, 'Kaisi Paheli Zindagani' (PARINEETA).

Summing up, one tends to feel slightly disappointed as on the whole the album is a mix bag with just one out of the world, top class number, 'Aye Khuda', which is our pick. The songs may gel with the mood and theme of the film as most are situational and will find more acceptances after the release of the film.
