Muzammil makes his debut with DHOKHA
Vishesh Films' next release is DHOKHA and it is instantly being noticed for its male lead Muzammil Ibrahim who is making his debut. Though it's a known fact that this model had won the Gladrags Manhunt Contest in 2003, not many are aware about the fact that way back in 1994, he had won the Rashtrapati Award for bravery (Jeevan Raksha Padak) for saving a boy from drowning in 1992.
Muzammil was just 11 year old kid when he had committed this act of bravery. Belonging to J&K, he was a student at Tyndale Biscoe School when he put his own life in danger while trying to save a child from drowning in a swimming pool. Since there was no help around, he listened to his heart and dragged the boy out of the pool.
It was an act that could have proved fatal for Muzammil himself since immediately after getting the child out of the pool he fainted, only to find himself in the school dispensary while being surrounded by his fellow mates and coach.
Nevertheless this was not an end to his ordeal because though he was awarded the Jeevan Raksha Padak (President's Award) by the President of India and also the Jeevan Raksha Padak Miniature, he, his school and his family were threatened by the J&K militants with dire consequences if he accepted the award.
Later due to the efforts of his mother Mumtaz Jehan and his school, the central government forwarded the award to the state government and the Governor of the State, Gen K V Krishna Rao, organized a special event to give him this prestigious bravery award.
