NCPA presents dance performances that feature the best of the classical forms, and also those that challenge traditional structures with Mumbai Dance season. Programs range from the technically complex and brilliant gurus of classical dance, to productions by young new choreographers presenting avant-garde dance works. NCPA has also made possible unique collaborations between dancers and artistes of other genres where the artistic quality of the production is given prime importance while choosing a performance.
NCPA plays an important role in continuing the unbroken thread of the evolution of dance in India today and continues to be a vital epicenter of dance activity, where dancers and students come to learn, share ideas, and interact. Here's a look at their events of the season.
1) Event: NCPA Mumbai Dance Season 2019- Kadambam
Venue: Rajiv Gandhi Udyan, Sector 29, Vashi , Navi Mumbai

Time: 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm
Kadambam- in tamizh translates to “Mixed flowers woven into a garland” , which presents a melange of different classical Natya forms performed in open-air garden.
2) Event: NCPA Mumbai Dance Season 2019- My Father, My Mother and My Natya-Workshop and Discussion Session
Venue: SIES High School Auditorium, Matunga
Date: 21st January 2019, Monday
Time: 7:00 pm onwards
A session for parents focusing on the wellness of the body(nutrition and exercise), wellness of the mind and spirit.
3) Event: NCPA Mumbai Dance Season 2019- Andaaz-E-Bayaan 2019
Venue: SPJIMR Auditorium, Bhavan Campus, Andheri-west
Date: 18th January 2019, Friday
Time: 6:30 pm onwards
NCPA presents Andaaz-E-Bayaan 2019, an Annual Kathak Festival and Ek Dharohar. Padmashree Pratap Pawar and Asavari Pawar highlight the beauty of Kathak embellishing it with their creative experiences. Kathak Choreographies on Women Empowerment. Ru-ba-Ru-Interactive platform between audience and artist to connect & create.
4) Event: NCPA Mumbai Dance Season 2019- Namamee
Venue: Nehru Centre, Worli

An evening of music and dance with a performance by Nildari Kumar on Sitar/Zitar and an Odissi recital tracing Swami Vivekananda’s ‘Journey to Divinity’
