This week saw a host of new releases, prominent amongst them being, T-Series’ Emraan Hashmi starrer WHY CHEAT INDIA, Pahlaj Nihalani’s Govinda venture RANGEELA RAJA, BOMBAIRIYA featuring Radhika Apte, 72 HOURS and the Saurabh Shrivastava directed Arshad Warsi starrer FRAUD SAIYAAN. As expected the front runner (if one may say so!), turned out to be WHY CHEAT INDIA, though with abysmal 5-10 percent start. The rest of the ventures including FRAUD SAIYAAN saw a shockingly poor opening, so the less said the better.

Meanwhile, the audience’s current favourite, Ronnie Screwvala’s URI- THE SURGICAL STRIKE , saw a rocking 70 crore (to be validated) opening  week  and unbelievable as it may sound, the Vicky Kaushal starrer is all set to double that total if not more! The outcome? A sure shot blockbuster.

The other release of the same week, Bohra Bros. Pvt Ltd and Pen India Ltd’s Anupam Kher and Akshaye Khanna starrer THE ACCIDENTAL PRIME MINISTER  managed a fair 17.50 crore week but will be lucky to touch the 20 crore mark.

Even SIMMBA Ranveer got hit hard by Vicky’s SURGICAL STRIKE managing a  21 crore haul during it’s latest outing, thus netting 232 crore (to be validated) in three weeks from India  and a blockbuster status. SIMMBA is also a big hit in the overseas, crossing $13m till date.
