All the new releases of the week, Govinda’s AA GAYA HERO, Abbas-Mustan’s MACHINE, the Vikramaditya Motwani directed Rajkummar Rao starrer TRAPPED and the Rajat Kapoor and Kalki Koechlin venture MANTRA, failed to impress the audience.
Comparatively, speaking it was MACHINE that fared best with an occupancy of around 10-15 percent. The remaining releases (barring to an extent TRAPPED), failed to make much of a mark.
For that matter even MACHINE has minimal chances at the box-office, as the audience will prefer the week old BADRINATH KI DULAHNIA as well as the new Hollywood release of the week, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST.
Meanwhile, the Holi week release, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt starrer, BADRINATH KI DULHANIA, managed a good opening week netting 74 crore (to be validated), which given the all inclusive 55 crore cost, means that the is sure to end up as at least a hit, if not a super hit. It is another feather in the cap(s) of Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt.
BADRINATH KI DULHANIA has also scored in the overseas, grossing nearly $3.25m with $1,165,000 from the US, during the opening week.
