It just takes a single film to make your name registered amongst the elite list of Bollywood. But to get that one film isn't easy for everyone. Charming Meghna Naidu made a sensational entry into stardom by dancing her feet on an item number ?Kaliyon Ka Chaman?. That song surely gave her the initial entry in Bollywood, but instead of being cast as an actor the tag of being an item girl never left her.
Now, Meghna's deglamorised role in Ashok Nanda's upcoming film RIVAAZ is selected for the New York Film Fest launching the actress into a completely different platform altogether. "I am very much excited about the film. I have got a chance to display my acting skills in a role that I will be remembered for. Besides that, I am happy that am a part of a film which is giving a strong message to the society. It is based on the serious issue of family prostitution that is rampant in over 300 villages in India," says Meghna.
Interestingly, director Ashok Nanda has a tale to tell. "With or without make-up Meghna looked just as pretty. Eventually, we had to use make-up to make her look ugly and it was not an easy task."
We all hope that this sweet girl gets her dues and is able to leave a mark in the film.
