Oh no! Rajinikanth-Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0 won’t be releasing even in April
Off late every filmmaker in B-town is trying their best to have a clear window at Box-office for a smooth release of their film. Early this year we saw how the uncertainty regarding Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus PADMAAVAT’s release led to reshuffling of release date of several other films as nobody wants to clash their film with others’.
Now release of another highly anticipated film 2.0 starring Megastar Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar has been postponed yet again. Earlier the film was supposed to hit the silver screens in Diwali last year but later it got shifted to 26 January and then to April 2018, however now reports are doing the rounds that the film won’t be releasing in April as well!
Talking about reason behind the film being postponed again a source close to the film was quoted saying in Firstpost as, “The VFX work is taking longer than expected because it has been distributed to many studios across the globe. The film has around 11000 VFX shots and each shot is being worked upon with lot of care. Shankar sir doesn’t want to compromise on the output, therefore, he doesn’t mind if the film doesn’t get completed on time for April release. The team is eyeing Independence Day weekend release. August 15 falls on a Wednesday, so the team wants to cash in on that weekend. The final date is still being worked out.”
Directed by S Shankar, 2.0 is sequel of ROBOT (2010) starring Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Also the film is first Indian film to be directly shot in 3D. While Rajinikanth will reprise his role in the sequel, Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson are the new addition to in the star cast of this second installment.
We wonder when the makers of the film are going to make any official announcement regarding the final release date of this film.
