PADMAVATI asked to drop 'I'; social Media goes berserk with memes
‘What’s in the name’, said Shakespeare but it doesn’t hold true in some cases it seems, as the name change is one of the biggest issues that Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ambitious film PADMAVATI is facing currently.
After the trailer and the two songs of the film, which was released few months back, the film had to undergo various protests from CBFC and political parties.
Starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus which is a high-budgeted film due to controversies was pushed ahead until further notice.
As per media reports PADMAVTI shall undergo a name change, as the letter ‘I’ shall be removed and will be named as PADMAVAT, with 26 cuts. The song ‘Ghoomar’ will also have few cuts as well. However, nothing officially has been announced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
As soon as the news broke out, social media lost it and several memes started floating around. Many renowned industry people too took a jibe at the PADMAVATI hassle.
While release of PADMAVTI is yet to be finalized, in the meantime these hilarious posts is all you need to just sit back and enjoy with a tub of popcorn and have a good time!

Finally CBFC found out that all problems in release of movie #Padmavati is because of the last alphabet "i". So they changed title of #Padmavati to #Padmavat. If Sanjay Leela Bhansali would have taken the help of astrologer CBFC long back then he wouldn't have faced any problem.— Invincible (@i_me_my5elf) December 30, 2017
According to the new regime it should be PadmaGST instead of PadmaVAT.— Kaju Katli (@MonkNxtDoor) December 30, 2017
The "I" of the storm has passed. CBFC changes the name of "Padmavati" to "Padmavat" and passes the film with a U/A certificate. Thereby nobody will have any issue and nobody's sentiments will be hurt. Name changing is game changing I must say!!!— Renuka Shahane (@renukash) December 30, 2017
