Ghazal Maestro Pankaj Udhas
was recently felicitated at the Wembley Conference Center for completing twenty successful years of performance at the venue. Udhas
is one of the few artists to have performed at Wembley for such a long period. It was in 1984 when Udhas had first performed at Wembley when his albums AAHAT
& PANKAJ UDHAS LIVE AT ALBERT HALL
were at the peak of the charts.
Says Pankaj Udhas
, "I feel proud and honoured at achieving this landmark. Wembley has been one of my all-time favourite venues and I have always enjoyed my concerts there. It's a privilege to be part of Wembley for twenty years now and I sincerely wish I can perform at the venue for many more years to come." Udhas
was felicitated by Wembley Conference Center Manager Steve Gotkine
in front of a jam-packed auditorium of over 2600 people. "This was also the first time ever that I entered the auditorium from the main entrance foyer where I was thrilled to be greeted by hundreds of fans who wanted to take my autographs and click pictures with me. It is an emotional moment for an artist too see such a dedicated fan following and to receive such a welcome in an alien land is really a proud moment", informs Udhas
whose concerts have always been houseful at Wembley. Pankaj Udhas
is at the moment traveling extensively in different parts of the world. He has just finished a massive tour of the US, UK, South Africa and Spain. Udhas is also working on his new album, slated to release in the next few months.
