The poster of the upcoming film RAAZI, starring Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal and Rajit Kapur is out.
The poster shows a loving bond & embrace between a father and a daughter, who is about to embark on a new journey. The bottom part of the poster also reveals a significant still from the film with the father-daughter duo hugging each other in front of the buses in the backdrop which confirms our beliefs that there is going to be a separation and that Alia’s character will have to work in isolation while risking her life and her family’s well-being.
The film is based on a novel by Harinder S. Sikka named 'Calling Sehmat' which tells a story about a Kashmiri girl who marries a Pakistani Officer.
Films have had a long history of being adapted from novels as it gives a good base to set a screenplay upon and give both the film and the book more publicity as the cross platform marriage usually works out to be beneficial for both.
This book is based on a true story about a girl who carries out her father’s dying wish to help their nation by providing Pakistani intelligence to the Indian Army, the strong, brave and heroic actions of this girl helped the Indian Army in 1971 when the tensions were high and her actions directly led to INS Viraat being saved and it was only because of her.
As soon as the first poster went viral, the makers also unveiled two more posters of RAAZI back-to-back. The second poster shows Alia and Vicky's characters looking at each other with a smile on their face, although the image was circulated on social media a few months back.
The third poster is more revealing which shows Alia's character standing alone strong and ready to face any challenge but in the bottom part of the image we can see a naval ship presumably INS Viraat and a couple of jets which the film revolves around.
Along with the poster the teaser was also released yesterday which shows Alia Bhatt making a secret phone, the trailer is due to be launched on 10th April 2018.
Produced by Karan Johar who posted about the film, stating the characteristics of Sehmat.
Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the film is set to release on 11th May 2018.
