Whether it’s signing a film or anything -- Raima Sen has been very selective and always chose to work in a movie which has some social connection.
Commenting on her choice of films, Raima said, “I am open to films which are aesthetically sound, with a good storyline under the mentorship of a virtuous director. Since I belong from a culturally-rich Bengali family, I am not restricted by any socio, political and cultural taboos. I have performed in ace director Late Rituparno Ghosh’s movie MEMORIES IN MARCH, which deals about homosexuality, and has received tons of accolades.”
Raima Sen is the daughter of ace actress Moon Moon Sen and granddaughter of Suchitra Sen, who was regarded as the Mahanayika of Bengali film industry and sister of actress Riya Sen.
Raima appeared in many critically-acclaimed movies such as NIL NIRJANE, CHOKHER BALI, ANTAR MAHAL, BONG CONNECTION among others.
“I am open to new and challenging roles, which I have never played onscreen. I have done a couple of Bollywood films such as PARINEETA, GODMOTHER etc. Since I balance two different industries, I chose the best of what I get I am happy doing so,” Raima further added.
