Rani has invited her close friends to see the film and Karan Johar was evidently overwhelmed with Rani’s performance and said the film has an important message for everyone. Iconic actors Rekha and Madhuri were seen sobbing and congratulating Rani for portraying the character of Naina Mathur - a teacher suffering from Tourette Syndrome - so sensitively. Jeetendra, Boney Kapoor, Sushmita Sen everyone had broken down and celebrated Rani’s comeback film. Looks like HICHKI will touch your heartstrings when it releases next Friday. Well let's wait for the film to release and we hope it strikes our hearts chords.
HICHKI is an upcoming Indian Bollywood drama film, directed by Sidharth P Malhotra and produced by Maneesh Sharma and
Aditya Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films. The film is an adaptation of Hollywood film FRONT OF THE CLASS (2008),
which itself was based on the book, Front of the Class: How Tourette Syndrome Made Me the Teacher I Never Had by Brad Cohen, of which Yash Raj Films acquired the rights. The film stars Rani Mukerji in the lead role of a teacher having Tourette syndrome. The film will be released on 23 March 2018.
A few days back Rani Mukerji introduced Brad Cohen, the man who has been an inspiration for making HICHKI, the real-life
inspiration for Rani's character in the film.
Rani and team also decided to ask prominent personalities like Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif to share their untold weaknesses and how they eventually converted them into massive strengths. While Shah Rukh revealed that harnessing the pain and grief of his loss into his passion for acting has been his way of overcoming this massive HICHKI of his life, on the other hand Katrina Kaif got candid with Rani as she spoke about her hiccups in life. Katrina revealed, "For me, my biggest Hichki in the beginning of my career was dancing. While shooting for a film with superstar Venkatesh in Telugu, Raju Sundaram was choreographing me.
