Sai Lokur: Kapil Sharma enjoyed shooting with the girls in KIS KISKO PYAAR KAROON
Sai Lokur, who has starred in a couple of Marathi films, is playing one of the wives of Kapil Sharma in KIS KISKO PYAAR KAROON. Interestingly, the actress starred in 2002 film long ago called KUCH TUM KAHO KUCH HUM KAHEIN which also starred Fardeen Khan (you remember?) . In this exclusive interview with Glamsham.com, she speaks about how it’s very difficult to get a break in Bollywood and a lot more. Read on…
So is this your first Hindi film?
I started acting at a very early age. I did a lot of ad serials. I also did a Hindi film with Fardeen Khan called KUCH TUM KAHO KUCH HUM KAHEIN. Then I got into Marathi films because my mom is a producer/director of the Marathi industry. She launched me in a film called platform and I did five Marathi films after that.

How did this film happen?
The writer of the film, Kiran Kotrial is my friend and he knows Abbas-Mustan. So he was aware about my Marathi work. He introduced me to Abbas-Mustan. They liked me and offered me the film. Actually it’s very difficult to get into the film industry. It’s very competitive. I was trying from a very long time to enter the film industry. I even gave a lot of auditions. But luckily I met Abbas-Mustan at a time when they were casting for KIS KISKO PYAAR KAROON. They found me suitable for the character and immediately offered me the film.
“I had a lot of fun with Kapil Sharma”
How was it working with Kapil Sharma?
It was an amazing experience working with Kapil Sharma. He’s obviously very funny. I’ve had so much fun working with him. He has a very nice comic timing. He’s very spontaneous. You never know what he’s going to say next and when he’ll make you laugh. But he’s also a wonderful human being. He’s a very sweet person. I used to observe him on set. He’s extremely grounded and speaks nicely with everyone. He’s such a warm soul. So that’s the reason I enjoyed working with him even more. We had a lot of fun. He enjoyed shooting with all four girls because he used to pull our legs.
Were you any point insecure since the film is Kapil Sharma’s debut film and also has three other actresses?
Not at all. Like Kapil, it’s my debut film also. And being launched by Abbas-Mustan was a very big thing. Also, Kapil is already a big name in TV. So even if it’s his debut, he already has millions of fans. So it was a big advantage for me to be opposite him in my very first film. Even the roles of all the actresses is divided equally. The film is based on Kapil and the four girls. I loved my character from the narration stage itself. So there was no need to feel insecure at all.

Do you feel in KIS KISKO PYAAR KAROON, people will come to the theatres because of Kapil and will be pleasantly surprised by the four girls?
I don’t know about that. Like I said, the film is about Kapil Sharma and the four girls. It’s majorly about Kapil. I’m new and many people don’t know me. But Elli, Manjari and Simran are relatively well known. So I’m hoping some people will come to the theatre because of the girls also.
The duo of Abbas-Mustan is known for making thriller films like RACE, RACE 2 off late. Do you feel they’ll be able to deliver in the comedy genre also?
I definitely think so. If you see most of their films, they have always had some comic elements. So they know comedy genre as well. In KIS KISKO PYAAR KAROON also, there are some thriller moments also. It’s not just a plain comedy. They have done a fantastic job.
