Wanting a new face for the role, it took Nikkhil Advani just a few seconds to zero in on debutant Rohan Mehra, son of the highly respected late actor Vinod Mehra. Rohan has been aggressively groomed for a launch by Advani’s production house Emmay Entertainment, over the past eighteen months. This includes an ongoing regime of acting workshops, mixed martial arts, fight and dance training. In all this, Rohan has always found time to pursue his second love playing the guitar and photography.
Not many know that Rohan has the double major Bachelors in Economics from the University of Nottingham in the UK, even though being highly educated he has passion for acting.
The much awaited BAZAAR starring Saif Ali Khan and the newbie Rohan Mehra went on floors today.
An elated Rohan says, “When I moved back to Mumbai to look for a break in films, I met a lot of producers. Being mentored by Nikkhil and his team has been a great start for me as they’ve helped me focus on my strengths and improve my weaknesses. The most overwhelming thing for me has been the way I have been received by people and colleagues who knew my father. It is almost as if I am learning about my identity and my legacy through them. That is a very heavy responsibility I realise that I have to live up to.”
Confirming the same, Nikkhil says “Emmay Entertainment is committed to building talent for the Indian film industry. We are extremely confident of Rohan’s abilities to shoulder a challenging role in his first film and are excited to present him to our audiences.”
BAZAAR, which is directed by Gauravv K Chawla. The film is slated to release in December.
