Satish Kaushik: Ruslaan fits TEREE SANG just as Tusshar did in MKKH
Film maker Satish Kaushik is extremely pleased with his decision to cast Ruslaan Mumtaz in TEREE SANG which is ready for release. As per him, in Ruslaan he saw the same spark as he saw in Tusshar Kapoor whom he launched in MUJHE KUCH KEHNA HAI way back in 2001.
"Tusshar came to me as a newcomer around a decade back and I took the decision of casting him opposite Kareena Kapoor in MUJHE KUCH KEHNA HAI. At that time I was highly confident of roping him in since the script and character were such that he was just the right choice. And everyone knows how much he was appreciated in the film", Satish Kaushik remembers here.
Circa 2009 and he has Ruslaan Mumtaz seeing a re-launch of sorts after MP3 - MERA PEHLA PEHLA PYAAR, a film about which not many are aware of.

"For me, he was a newcomer when he started working on TEREE SANG", smiles Satish Kaushik, "In him I could see the same passion, innocence and willingness to work hard as I had seen in Tusshar. The biggest reason though for casting him is that he looks the part. Though he is in mid-20s, he just looks like a 17 year old boy in the film."
He has tried working with newcomers earlier as well. For Bhumika Chawla, her first Hindi film was TERE NAAM.
"We wanted a different face opposite Salman Khan and we got that in Bhumika", recollects Satish Kaushik, "Sometimes things just click. The same happened in case of Bhumika and Tusshar. Now I am confident even Ruslaan and Sheena Shahabadi, the debutant girl in the film, will be appreciated in a big way by audiences."
