B-Town celebs adds glamour to the opening ceremony of Hockey World Cup

Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit and AR Rahman dazzled at the Kalinga Stadium during the opening ceremony of the Hockey World Cup 2018. The World Cup taking place in Bhubaneswar was declared open with a grand opening ceremony, which saw Bollywood stars with fascinating performances. Shah Rukh Khan recreated the Chak de India moment with his iconic dialogues while Madhuri Dixit celebrated the tribal culture of India as well as the mixture of the influence of the West with the East. 

Many of the celebrities went on to social media to support the participating teams.

The ceremony came to a perfect end with a performance by AR Rahman.

While Shah Rukh Khan's performance left everyone with nostalgic as had a special message for all the teams, as he quoted famous dialogue from CHAK DE INDIA.

The World Cup was declared open by Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik during the ceremony along with all the 16 captains of the teams. Larger than life fusion dance performances were choreographed by ace dancer Shiamak Davar. He was joined by 1100 artists.

The grand ceremony showcased first-of-its-kind theatrical production - The Earth Song featuring Madhuri Dixit as the lead character, her performance beautifully depicted the theme of the ceremony. 

The opening ceremony was almost three hours long which beautifully conveyed a powerful message of \"oneness of humanity\".
