A bevy of beautiful, young and talented actors are making their way into the Hindi cinema, and the latest to do so, Shreya Singh Chaudhary, is already quite famous for her Sunsilk, Pepsi and ‘Sanam Mere Sanam’ video with Mithoon and Arjun Kanugo.
To know more about her upcoming release, DEAR MAYA (a sort of comeback for Manisha Koirala!), and more, we caught up with the vivacious actress.
Shreya told us, “As you can see, DEAR MAYA has mostly been shot in Shimla and that has a History! Just a couple of years back, I was holidaying there with my family and loved the place, but did not know that soon I’ll be back to shoot at the same venue. So it became all the more more exciting.”
Talking about DEAR MAYA and Manisha Koirala, the actress added,” DEAR MAYA has a subject that is unique and the first of its kind for the Indian audience, who I think would love it. I got the film after a few auditions and when my director Sunaina Bhatnagar told me that I have been selected, I was overjoyed. Apart from a number of reasons (for signing DEAR MAYA), working with Manisha Koirala ji was a dream come true, she is one of my favourites. Initially I was so nervous, but she had no starry airs about herself, and soon made me relax. In fact seeing her perform was quite an experience and her energy rubbed off on to me!”
The pretty lass concluded by praising her director, Sunaina Bhatnagar, and DEAR MAYA lyricist, Irshad Kamil, saying, “The best thing about my director was that she never imposed anything. Sunaina just briefed us about a particular scene and said that ‘give it your best shot and the way you want to do it’, which was a big motivation. And before I leave can’t help but say that if the lyricist of your debut film is an iconic name like Irshad Kamil, what more can one ask for!”
Well, hearing what Shreya has to say, there are enough reasons to check out DEAR MAYA early June.
