That Rajnikanth is the box-office king in Tamil Nadu is common knowledge. However, this one would come as an unbelievable piece of news even for Rajni's fans. His new Tamil film, SIVAJI, has been sold for Madras city alone for a whopping price of Rs. 6.5 crores. If the Madras distribution sources are anything to go by, no film has ever fetched a price of over Rs. 1 crore for Madras. SIVAJI is directed by Shankar and co-stars Shreya Sharan, while A R Rahman has scored the music.

The film will obviously have a wide release all over Tamil Nadu. In Madras city, two or three cinemas in the same complex will screen the film, when it releases next week. For example, Satyam and Santham cinemas will show the film, despite being situated in the same complex.

In another complex, three cinemas, namely Udhayan, Suryan and Mini Udhayan will be running the film. Abhirami, Annai Abhirami and Bala Abhirami will also simultaneously screen the much-anticipated movie.
