Actor Sohit Vijay Soni who hails from Faridabad has come a long way. Hosting small events to working in shows like Tu Mera Hero, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, Tenali Rama, Sohit’s journey was never easy. For the last couple of years, he has established himself as Mani in the popular show Tenali Rama. Speaking about his struggle in Mumbai Sohit says, ”It was never easy to come to Mumbai with nothing. Searching for work was a huge battle as commuting and taking care of myself in this expensive city itself was a challenge. But gradually and slowly I have started finding my ground and getting work. People have loved me in Bhabiji where I played more than 70 characters and also in Tenali Rama as Mani.” Speaking on his inspirations in acting Sohit says, ”I have been a great admirer of Mr. Bean, the way he uses his emotions and expressions that is simply mindblowing. One can learn so much just looking at him. I have been following his work since 2004 and still watching. In India, I have always loved and admired Paresh Rawal’s work. He is a genius, whatever you give him. Comedy to grey to a strong character role he will always rise and will make the role believable. Whenever I have some time, I always watch his work and try to learn. I have never been to any acting school. But these two actors are my greatest teachers.”

Speaking about his aim and focus now Sohit adds, ”I would like to establish myself as a strong anchor or a co-anchor in a reality show. If we look at the last few years reality show graph people like TRP Mama aka Paritosh Tripathi, Sunil Grover, Chandan Prabhakar, Kikku Sharda they all have become brand names. And of course, you have the king of comedy -- Kapil Sharma. When we look at his journey I find him as a great talent. He is an allrounder, his hosting and stand up gags are flawless. If I ever get a chance in Kapil Sharma’s show I know I will do good. Working with Kapil Sharma is a dream. He is back with a bang now and the way he makes all of us laugh that is enduring and he has a special place in our heart.”
