Sony Pictures acquires rights for a biopic on Jhulan Goswami

Biopics are a huge trend in Bollywood. So everyone wants to encash on it and its really good that different actors, directors and studios are showing keen interest on biopics and coming up with some interesting stories.


Continuing its quest for stories that inspire and yet entertain, after the back-to-back successes of PAD MAN and 102 NOT OUT, now Sony Pictures International Productions India has acquired the rights to develop and produce the biopic of legendary Indian woman ODI cricketer- Jhulan Goswami, in partnership with Dunamis Entertainment.


Much celebrated the world over as the highest wicket taker in International women’s cricket, the biopic of India’s all-rounder and ex-captain of the cricket team is set to throw light on the incredibly inspiring story of her life- riddled with extreme hardships and massive achievements- as the little girl from Nadia in West Bengal went on to become one of the brightest stars in Indian sport history.


In the past we h ave seen two biopics on Indian cricketers MS Dhoni and Azhruddin. Yet another biopic on a celebrated Indian cricketer Kapil Dev played by Ranveer Singh is underway.
