Game of Thrones Season 8: HBO releases new teaser along with premiere date
HBO released a teaser video titled Crypts of Winterfell. In the video, Jon Snow, Sansa Stark and Arya Stark walk through the crypts under their family home and hear messages from dead family members Ned, Catelyn and Lyanna Stark. Then an icy threat comes their way, and the Starks show they are prepared to face it down.
Fans have been waiting since 2017 for the return of the show, based on the A Song of Ice and Fire books by George R.R. Martin. Game Of Thrones final season will consist of six episodes, while plot details are kept very confidential, but makers had teased some or the other news related to show that has made fans eagerly wait for the to premier, but fans are in for a big treat with lots of twists and surprises.
Fans won’t have to say goodbye to their favourite show. A prequel series titled The Long Night has already been announced along with the cast. Recently the makers had announced the cast members of the prequel which includes Naomi Ackie, Jamie Campbell Bower, Sheila Atim, Ivanno Jeremiah, Georgie Henley, Alex Sharp, Toby Regbo, Denise Gough.
Reportedly in an interview author George R. R. Martin has said that, "events in the prequel occur about 5,000 words before Game of Thrones when Westeros is a very different place."
"There’s no King’s Landing, there’s no Iron Throne, there are no Targaryens, Valyria has hardly begun to rise yet with its dragons and the great empire that it built. We’re dealing with a different and older world and hopefully, that will be part of the fun of the series."
Showrunners David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, David Nutter and Miguel Sapochnik, will direct episodes, and Benioff, Weiss, Bryan Cogman and Dave Hill will write the scripts. Game of Thrones' final season will debut on April 14th.
