The controversial Suhaib Ilyasi, who made headlines as the maker of a highly popular TV series on real life crime as well as because of his wife's mysterious death, is now back with a film.
"The star cast of 'Qamyab' is almost finalised and I will be making a formal announcement on January 27," Ilyasi told IANS.
His TV show "India's Most Wanted" once jolted viewers with its straight-faced real life crime stories and facts about hardcore criminals that reportedly helped solve many cases.
But Ilyasi was himself accused of harassing his wife Anju for dowry and driving her to suicide four years ago. He was arrested and is now out on bail.
His first feature film, "Wanted No.1", based on the life of a sharpshooter who was finally killed by police, never took off due to a stay order.
Now Ilyasi is ready with the new project "Qamyab" that goes on the floors on January 23 and is rumoured to be financially backed by a big Indian media house.
"It is true that my earlier movie got stalled because of the stay order but I'm definitely going ahead with my new project, 'Qamyab'," said Ilyasi.
