After a prolonged wait, J.P. Dutta's BORDER 2 is all set to go on floors. Though the film, as well as BORDER 3 and BORDER 4, were announced many moons back, there was uncertainty around the scheduled start for the shoot. However come January and Dutta is all set to take his cast and crew to - no surprises here - Rajasthan and kick-start the shoot.

"Things are finally falling in place for all involved and the dates of actors have been locked. To begin with, the first major schedule would be held in the months of January and February," confirms our source.
It took quite some time for the veteran filmmaker to procure relevant permissions before announcing the film. Even though talks have been on for a couple of years, it was only a few months ago when an official statement around the film's launch was made. At that time it was also confirmed that Sunny Deol would be an integral part of the film.
"Other than Sunny there have been rumours around everyone from Suniel Shetty to Sangram Singh being a part of the film. However there is no truth to that yet," the source continues, "The only other actor who has been finalised is Jimmy Shergill who would be playing the role of a sardar
officer. Incidentally Sunny, who had excelled as a sardar
in BORDER, would be clean shaved in BORDER 2."
Earlier there were confirmed reports around the film going on floors in the month of October. However with the timeline not being met, there were doubts around whether BORDER 2 would have a heady kick-start soon.
doesn't make films in haste. Unlike today's time when many sequels and franchises are 'projects', an idea of bringing something on celluloid is still 'cinema' for him," says an actor associated with BORDER 2, "It is 17 years after BORDER that he would be making his second in the series. Do you think he would rush it up?"
As a matter of fact, the filmmaker is currently in the process of finalizing locations, though date diary of actors has been booked for 2014 beginning. As per insiders, BORDER 2 would be prominently shot in Jaiselmer and would narrate the 'Battle of Shakargarh Bulge' that was fought in 1971.
