Trailer: A prehistoric shark terrorizes the beaches in THE MEG!

Jason Statham is back in the sci fi thriller called THE MEG. The trailer shows a group of researchers being trapped in a submersible after being attacked by a monstrous great white shark, Jason Statham is then recruited to rescue the team of an international undersea observation program whose submersible lies sunk and disabled at the bottom of the ocean.
The deep sea creature is the same shark that had cost him his career as an expert sea diver and Naval Captain, his marriage and earned him a dishonorable discharge. The shark 70-foot sea creature, believed to be extinct for more than a million year known as megaladon.
The trailer shows glimpses of the shark and its viciousness which shows the scale of the damage it could cause. The film feels like an attempt to make JAWS but bigger and with more sci-fi elements added and it will be interesting to see how the film pans out as there have been numerous attempts to make such a film but none has prevailed as JAWS in 1975.
Directed by Jon Turteltaub who also has THE SORCERER'S APPRENTICE, LAST VEGAS and COOL RUNNINGS to his name.
Produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Colin Wilson and Belle Avery, the film is scheduled to release on 10th August.
