Pritish Nandy Communications' (PNC) widely acclaimed film "Hazaaron Khwahishein Aisi" was the closing film at the Indian Film Festival 2004 in Los Angeles on April 18.
After the screening of the film, Oscar winning actress Vanessa Redgrave, known for her roles in "Mission Impossible" and "Julia", personally walked up to director Sudhir Mishra and described the film as "a masterpiece".
The film drew much critical acclaim at the Berlin Film Festival and it has now been invited to the Commonwealth Film Festival in Manchester next month and thereafter to the prestigious Edinburgh Film Festival.
"It is one of our most successful films," said PNC chairman Pritish Nandy. "And we are proud of the impact it has made in some of the top-most film festivals overseas."
"Hazaaron Khwahishein Aisi", which has been doing the rounds of the international film festival circuit, is scheduled for a late summer release in India.
Sudhir Mishra's last film "Chameli", also a PNC production, has been winning all the top awards in India for its star Kareena Kapoor in the past three months.
