This week’s premier release, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt starrer, BADRINATH KI DULHANIA, which started on a good to very good start (especially in the North and hinterland) with 40 percent occupancy (on an average), picked up noticeably during the latter shows.BADRINATH KI DULHANIA MOVIE STILLS
As per rough early estimations, the first day appears to be around the 13 crore mark.
Given the reasonable all inclusive procurement cost (55 crore), the upcoming extended festive (Holi) weekend, good word-of-mouth, BADRINATH KI DULHANIA is all set to end up with a bumper weekend (anything from 50-60 crore!), and likely to be the next clean hit (after JOLLY LLB 2) of 2017.
Meanwhile, last week’s Vidyut Jammwal , Adah Sharma and Esha Gupta starrer, COMMANDO 2- THE BLACK MONEY TRAIL, maintained well during the opening week, netting a healthy 24-25 crore (including dubbed), from India. The moderate budget and quite a good recovery from non-theatrical rights will ensure that most people associated with the film end up on a happy note, provided that it maintains even a have decent run, this extended weekend!
