Veteran singer Mohammad Aziz – the staunch disciple of Mohammed Rafi, died following a cardiac arrest in Mumbai on Tuesday. He was 64.

Popularly known as Munna Bhai or Munna Aziz, Mohammad Aziz sang over 2000 songs in various languages. He died in Mumbai’s Nanavati Hosptial today.

After making his singing debut with Bengali film JYOTI, Mohammad Aziz made his debut with the 1984 Hindi film, AMBAR. He became a household name when he sang for Amitabh Bachchan in MARD (1985).

Mohammad Aziz gave playback for all top stars that included Amitabh Bachchcan, Govinda, Rishi Kapoor, Mithun Chakraborty, Anil Kapoor, Sunny Deol etc.

Some of his popular numbers include Mard Tangewala, Tera Bemar Mera Dil, My Name Is Lakhan, Mein Se Meena Se, Pyar Hamara Amar Rahega etc.
