The director of the laugh riot, NO ENTRY, Anees Bazmee, is bringing in a WELCOME cheer to the New Year, with his latest comedy flick. The opening weekend receipts of the movie have been phenomenal and the reports quite encouraging.
The affable director-writer, who first made his presence felt with the romantic film, PYAAR TO HONA HI THA (1998), followed it up with the thriller, DEEWANGI (2002), but the crowning glory was obviously the biggest hit of 2005, NO ENTRY.
If the above diverse films are not enough to convince his detractors, who wrongly slot Anees as a director of mindless comedy flicks, here is a shocker of a revelation.
The talented director was one of the assistants of none other than the immortal showman, Raj Kapoor, for his revolutionary social drama, the unforgettable PREM ROG (1982).
It was only later that Anees made a name and fame for himself by writing umpteen successful scripts for the comedy king, director David Dhawan.
