Randeep Hooda, Ajay Devgn, and now Bollywood’s new age icon of on screen patriotisms - Akshay Kumar, everybody wants to be the warrior in the BATTLE OF SARAGRAHI that is inspiring the Singhams, Dabanggs and even makers like Karan Johar who also seems to be smitten by the sheer valour of Havaldar Ishar Singh, who led a fight with his 21 Sikhs against 10,000 Afghans in 1987.

Blowing his trumpet first, Ajay Devgn made the announcement last year but got busy with his prior commitments before Ajay Devgn could think of anything further. In a major development Wave Cinemas announced a biggie based on the same historic event starring Randeep Hooda as Havaldar Ishar Singh to be directed by Raj Kumar Santoshi.

This forced Ajay Devgn to come out with the first look of his film but Wave cinemas had already moved ahead by announcing the shooting schedule and locations apart from the lead.

Now with Akshay Kumar jumping into the SARAGRAHI bandwagon in a biggie that sees collaboration between Salman Khan and Karan Johar as partners, the ‘war’ over BATTLE OF SARAGRAHI couldn’t get much bigger.

While the developments on Akshay Kumar starrer are yet to be known, Randeep Hooda starrer had already done his mahurat, changed its title to 21, THE LAST STAND – BATTLE OF SARAGARHI, finished its two day shoot and is gearing up for a start to finish schedule from February 2017. There are also rumours of creative differences between the director and the makers but according to our source close to the unit, some minutes regarding the contract needs to finalized and the movie is on schedule.

Without any iota of doubt the story of Indian brave heart Havaldar Ishar Singh is a story that needs to be told. However, gossip mongers are speculating all kinds of angles to this three dimension clash between Ajay Devgn, Randeep Hooda and Akshay Kumar.

A section of the market says that the announcement of Akshay Kumar starrer in Salman Khan and Karan Johar’s joint venture is a sweet revenge by Karan on Devgn and it must be remembered that it was alleged that Santoshi gave preference to this period war epic over Salman Khan's rom com to be produced by his brother– in-law Atul Agnihotri.

Whatever be the case, BATTLE OF SARAGARHI coming in three versions starring big stars is good for the industry but the only thing is which one will be the first and which one will get the biggest bite from this epic pie filled with patriotic flavours that is getting hotter day by day. This Singh (read content) is bigger than Khans, Devgns and Kumars of Bollywood.
