Ranbir Kapoor is currently busy promoting his upcoming film SANJU which is a biopic on the life of the troubled superstar Sanjay Dutt. The film shows Dutt’s journey from a 22 year old boy who was crippled with drugs to changing his life and becoming one of Bollywood’s biggest star.
Ranbir faced the media and answered many questions and one of them was a question about a biopic being made on his life to which he replied, "I will be ready but I don't think my life is inspiring. I am a very boring person. I work, go back home and fall asleep. If a film is made, it will be a very existential kind of a film."
Further adding, "If someone puts a camera like in the Bigg Boss house, you will see me work, come home and sleep. So yes, if someone wants to make a film then I won't mind but I don't think the film will work or it will have any message to give."
Ranbir was asked how he felt going through the life of Sanjay Dutt and his different phases to which he said, "The difficult one which I did not expect was the young Sanju because there were a lot of facets that we had to show. First, the drugs then coming out of it, then his mother's death and the most fun was Munna Bhai phase. I enjoyed doing it."
In attendance director Rajkumar Hirani and producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra were present too and they had something to say on this subject.
Rajkumar said, It is not possible to show a 55-year-old journey in two- or two-and-a-half-hours. We had to let go of certain parts.” Adding to it producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra said, “We didn't want any controversial stuff in the film. What we have done is, presented it with a message. Once the message is clear, the whole film revolves around it."
Directed by Rajkumar Hirani and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, SANJU is set to release on 29th June 2018
