Name Hansal Mehta may not ring a bell for many. And it is quite ironic considering the fact that he started off with two back-to-back brilliant films - DIL PE MAT LE YAAR and CHHAL and followed it up with one of India's few bona fide sex comedies YEH KYA HO RAHA HAI which was based on AMERICAN PIE series.

Since none of the three films worked at the box office, Hansal's stocks weren't quite on an upswing. His films like RAAKH and ANJAAN got stuck in the cans in spite of being completed. This is when Sanjay Gupta came into picture and Hansal found himself at a senior position in Gupta's production house WHITE FEATHER FILMS.

While Hansal is actively involved in behind the scenes happenings of the films coming from the production house, he has also completed his directorial venture WOODSTOCK VILLA. This is quite a dramatic change of genres for Hansal since his last released film was a sex comedy while WOODSTOCK VILLA is being pitched as an action thriller which marks the debut of Sikandar Kher.

Well, if Hansal's short story RISE AND FALL (Sanjay Dutt and Suneil Shetty) in DUS KAHANIYAAN is anything to go by, the man certainly knows how to get the thrill element on. Of course, there is an obvious Sanjay Gupta hangover in his shot taking but one doesn't mind that as long as the trademark thrill and chill along with a strong undercurrent of macho effect remains in place.

WOODSTOCK VILLA is an important project for Hansal since this would be his biggest project till date. Also he has an added responsibility of launching not just Sikandar but also Neha Uberoi for whom it will be her first leading lady act after a short appearance in LOVE DALE (DUS KAHANIYAAN).

Coming with the punch line of 'Where The Truth Lies', WOODSTOCK VILLA has an interesting array of actors ranging from Arbaaz Khan, Boman Irani and Shakti Kapoor to Sachin Khedekar and Anupama Varma. With screenplay by Sanjay Gupta himself, music by Anu Malik, lyrics by Virag Mishra and songs by singers as diverse as Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Shibani Kashyap, WOODSTOCK VILLA is aiming for a June release.
