The third installment of the YAMLA PAGLA DEEWANA franchise is here and it’s debatable whether Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol and Kriti Kharbanda starrer should be even considered a comedy.

A couple of minutes into this gigantic bore, we see the legendary Dharmendra talking to two Apsaras (angles), one on right and the other on left in an imagination that gruesomely kills the legacy and his towering personality in this pitiable and pointlessness sequel that goes nowhere.

Even after having dhai to five kilos of badaam, pista and jadi booti, it’s hard to understand what is this YAMLA PAGLA DEEWANA: PHIR SE all about?.

Vaidya Puran (Sunny Deol) is an honest expert on Ayurveda. Puran posses a magical legacy with a formula called Vajra Kawach that cures everything. The greedy sharks from the medical industry are after Puran for that formula. Puran’s younger brother Kaala (Bobby Deol) is good for nothing and only dreams of getting transported to Canada. A flamboyant tenant Jayant Parmar (Dharmendra) completes the trio. Enters Chikoo (Kriti Kharbanda) in the household of Puran and things go crazy.

This one goes on and on and on, Dheeraj Rattan’s screenplay and Bunty Rathore’s dialogue leave no impact. Navaniat Singh adds Satish Kaushik and Shatrughan Sinha to the cast as well but fails to make any good use of them. A clear cut example of laziness and lack of thinking, YPDPS has nothing, absolutely nothing to call itself a comedy.

Yes, the one scene in particular between Dharmendra and Shatrughan Sinha in the courtroom is a cracker but one scene cannot rectify a 2 hours plus disaster.

It’s painfully sad to watch the legendary Dharmendra reduced into a caricature, Sunny Deol is restrained and the only one who gets some meat in his role. Bobby is just fine. Kriti Kharbanda looks gorgeous and tries her best. Shatrughan Sinha is in his element. Asrani is wasted.

In one of the conversation Dharmendra says, yeh dhai kilo ka nahi paanch kilo ka haath hai... the audience wished they had that so that curtains for this torturetainment in the name of entertainment could have been punched down for ever. Going with one and half star - half each for each Deol.
