Bidding adieu to Ian Holm

Sir Ian Holm known for his roles in Shakespeare palys and who played Bilbo Baggins in the Lord of the Rings died at 88 he was battling with Parkinson’s disease and was also being treated for Prostate Cancer. His other well-known film roles include Ash in Alien and the Hobbit film series.

Ian also won BAFTA Award in 1981 for Best Actor in a supporting role for his role as athletics trainer Sam Mussabini in Chariots of Fire. On hearing his sad demise, the social media was flooded with the condolence messages.

BAFTA posted, “We are very sorry to hear of the death of Ian Holm. Nominated for 6 BAFTAs in his wide-ranging and successful career across TV and film. He is pictured here winning the Supporting Actor award for his role in Chariots Of Fire in 1981.”
