The highly-anticipated ‘Black Adam’ movie just added a new cast member.
Actress Quintessa Swindell is the latest recruit to join the action-adventure thriller featuring Dwayne Johnson as the titular DC Comics anti-hero.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Swindell, better known for starring in Netflix’s ‘Trinkets’ and HBO series ‘Euphoria’ has landed the role of Justice Society member, Cyclone.
Johnson, 48, confirmed the news by sharing a congratulatory message on his Instagram handle saying, “Ready to rumble. My pleasure to officially welcome, @q.uintessa to our BLACK ADAM cast.”
“They’ll be taking on the role of CYCLONE. Can’t wait to work with them and WE READY to rumble in the DC jungle.”
In the comics, Cyclone is also known as Maxine Hunkell, the granddaughter of the original Red Tornado, per THR. The character originally debuted in 1940 and is an eventual member of the Justice Society of America, a team of superheroes who unite to stop him.
Swindell will reportedly join the previously announced cast members that include Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, and Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher along with Sarah Shahi appearing in a supporting role.

Dwayne Johnson is also producing the upcoming DCEU film with former wife Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia through their Seven Bucks Productions banner, with Beau Flynn of FlynnPictureCo.
Production for ‘Black Adam’ is expected to begin in Spring 2021. The film is still awaiting a release date.
