Demi Lovato has shared an empowering message about being single.
The 28-year-old songstress, who called off her engagement with actor Max Ehrich has now opened up about her relationship status.
On Saturday, the ‘Stone Cold’ singer took to her Instagram stories, where she posted a brief message reminding her fans that you don’t need to be in a relationship be happy.
“The best part about being single is knowing that my happiness is coming from no other person than myself,” Demi Lovato wrote along with a pink heart emoji.
People magazine confirmed back in September, that the pair who began dating in March has “called off their engagement two months after he proposed her in Malibu, California, on July 22”.
“It was a tough decision, but Demi and Max have decided to go their separate ways to focus on their respective careers,” a source close to the pair said at the time.
“They have respect and love for one another and will always cherish the time they spent together.”
While hosting the People’s Choice Awards in November, Demi Lovato mentioned her engagement with Max Ehrich and joked that 2020 had been “the longest three years” of her life.
“This year has been the longest three years of my life. Don’t get me wrong, it started out amazing,” she began.
“I performed at the Grammys and sung the national anthem at the Super Bowl. But then COVID-19 hit and everything shut down, so I did what everyone else did. I went into lockdown mode. And got engaged.”
Demi Lovato further added, “I binged seven seasons of Pretty Little Liars, got un-engaged, and went looking for aliens in the desert, so basically the same as everyone else.”
She dropped her new single ‘Still Have Me’ just days after ending her engagement to Max Ehrich, reports Insider.
