Drew Barrymore has opened up about her past struggles.

The 45-year-old actress who had a troubled childhood and has been through a lot in her life in the form of addiction, legal battles and divorce got candid during this week’s Sunday Sitdown.

In a recent interview with Sunday TODAY’s Willie Geist, Barrymore opened up on her own turbulent childhood, which was reportedly filled with struggles ranging from drug abuse to getting blacklisted from Hollywood at age 12.

She also discussed her personal life, from the failure of the four-year marriage with actor Will Kopelman to being a mom to her two young daughters.

“I really did not take divorce well. I took it really hard. Even now, I’m just like, oh, it’s such a painful thing,” Drew Barrymore said.

“It took me five years to be able to speak with strength, articulation, perspective, hindsight, and see everything we did right.”

The ‘Charlie’s Angels’ star further said that she doesn’t expect to get remarried anytime soon.

“It’s like, I don’t think I’ve recovered from that,” said Barrymore geting teary eyed.

“I don’t know how to open that up again. It’s like something closed, and it stayed closed. I think I’m equally as scared to find love again as I would be as if it

never happened.”

Drew Barrymore and Will Kopleman – whom she wed in 2012, have reportedly managed to keep their differences aside to raise their children together. The pair share two

girls: 8-year-old Olive and 6-year-old Frankie.

“But, the good news is that his family and I sort of made the most important choice: to be so together and united and connected,” Dew Barrymore shared.

“That’s, I guess, what they call family. I know from not growing up with any family whatsoever that that was the last thing I wanted to do for my daughters.”

Drew Barrymore was previously married to producer Jeremy Thomas from 1994 to 1995 and comedian Tom Green from 2001 to 2002, reports Pagesix.
