The widely anticipated first trailer for Wonder Woman 1984 is here with Gal Gadot reprising her titular role. Director Patty Jenkins unveiled the trailer at Comic-Con Experience (CCXP) in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The first trailer of the Warner Bros film reveals Diana bonding with Barbara Minerva (Kristen Wiig), who later becomes one of her greatest foes, as well as Pedro Pascal starring as infomercial king Maxwell Lord. We also get a few glimpses of Chris Pine's character Steve Trevor, who returns in this film due to some mysterious reasons following his death in 2017's first Wonder Woman movie.
The second film is set almost seventy years after the original film. Set to the New Order track "Blue Monday," Gal Gadot shows off her signature moves in a new, totally ’80s world, as she fights off her enemies in Amazonian-style, leaping to new heights.
On Sunday, the makers also treated the fans with four new character posters featuring the first look at Wiig’s Barbara Minerva (aka the villain Cheetah); Pedro Pascal as Maxwell Lord; and Pine in the new film.
The trailer also shows Gadot debuting her new outfit which appears to be heavily influenced by the decade a golden suit featuring a pair of angel wings.
Wonder Woman 1984 is set for release on June 5, 2020.
